Uzal Meeker, a Revolutionary War veteran, is buried in a private cemetery which is owned by the Demarest family and is opened only once a year to the public around Memorial Day. It is located behind the New Milford Borough Hall right by the little league field.

The grave marker is not original, but was put up by the “Daughters of the Revolution” in 1955. I, Bob Meli, took this photo on Friday May 27, 2016 when the cemetery was opened to visitors.
